Information Tools |
| This panel holds all information about your account and backup settings. |

1. Account username |

2. Next scheduled backup date/time |

3. Maximum backup duration: The maximum
tiime the nightly backup is allowed to use to complete the
backup event. |

4. Last backup date: Last time a backup
event took place. |
|
5. Current file type inclusions: The file
types you want backed up regardless of where they exist on
your computer |
|
| 6. Current file type exclusions:
File types that you wish to permanently exclude from your
backup either because they cannot be restored from the server
or you do not wish to have them in your archive. |
| 7. Recent files backup up:
Clicking on the box to the left will show a list of file backups
by day. Clicking on an individual backup will show details
of the files secured in the right panel of the console. |
| 8. Recent failed backups:
Clicking on the box to the left will show a list of days where
files identified for backup failed to be secured. Clicking
on an individual backup will show details of the files in
the right panel of the console. [also see troubleshooting] |
| 9. Backup log type: This
controls the way information is displayed in the bottom panel
of the console. Some people are more comfortable having the
information displayed in a tape format. Others prefer the
more modern backup event log. |

| The LEDs visible in the lower right hand side
of the console indicate the condition of the various e-Safe
module. |
Red - there is a problem with
a module. Blue – module is active.
Green – module is idle. |
| Right clicking on an LED if it is red may reactivate
the module. Closing and reopening the user console may reactivate
a module as well. |

and restore events can be found in this panel on the console. Below
the panel the status bar will inform you of activity as it occurs. |

| Lock control panel
– makes it impossible to change settings or restore files. Backups
will run normally. To unlock the control panel the account password is needed. |

– Closes the panel, e-Safe will run normally in the background. |
| Archive Functions |
| Restore archived files now
– Opens the restore
file window. |
| Delete archived files now
– for removing files and directories from the archive server. Has
the same features as Restore information
window. |
| Delete out-of-date files from the archive
- Archive management tool used to keep the size of an archive under control.

| Restore archivedd files to local computer
- To be used when you are not sure what files have been accidentally deleted
from your local computer. The software will compare a list of files in your
archive with those stored locally in the designated directories. A list
of missing files will be displayed and you can choose to restore some or
all of the files as needed. |
| Backup |
| Start backup now –
Initiates a backup immediately overiding any backup settings. |
Set full backup mode - If starting a
backup on a new computer from scratch it is a good idea to make this setting. |

File
types to be added - This feature will allow you to make sure
your data is backed up no matter where it is stored on your local computer.
If you think you may miss out saving your word documents or pictures,
use this menu to select specific file types to be added.

| File types to be excluded
- Useful as an archive management tool. It is best to exclude useless file
types from your backup that may take up space without purpose. Tmp files,
dll files, exe files and cookies may fall into this catagory. It is also
possible to exclude image file types or music from your backup if you do
not wish to archive these types of files. |
Backup selections
- Opens the directory to your computer so you can select files
and directories for backup. |
| Backup Schedule - This window is used for
selecting the time your backup should start, how long you allow it to take
and other critical parameters for using the service. [See scheduling

Administration - Advanced feature settings.
Change backup process location - If there is not enough
space on the current disk drive to properly run the software it is possible
to run the backup process from an alternative location. [see change
backup location and large
file backup.]
