<%@LANGUAGE="VBSCRIPT" CODEPAGE="1252"%> e-Safe Help - Setting Account Size

The e-Safe service is charged on the amount of data you select to be backed up on your computer at source. After determining the amount of data to be secured, it is recommended to add 25% to the total to allow for new files that you will create or change as the year goes on.[see versioning]

It is important to keep in mind, that if the amount of data exceeds the size of your account, the account will stop backing up until you either increase the size of the account or delete some old information from your archive.
How do I tell how much information I have to backup?
Windows Explorer If you are unsure how much information you need to backup, it is very easy to find out. Open Windows Explorer and right click on the directory you want to backup. Select properties and you will see the total size of the directory displayed in a dialogue box.
If the directory is large it may take a few moments to add up.
This directory has 1.89 gigabytes in it. We would suggest setting the account size at 3 gigabytes. This will backup the almost 2 gigabytes now stored in the directory and any new information created over the coming year.
What is file versioning?
e-Safe will save up to 3 copies of files that are changed and then saved. Because of this it is possible to restore an earlier version if the latest copy has become corrupted. It is also possible to restore an earlier version if you don’t like the changes that have been made to a file.
